This is my first visit to the country. Just a 2 week trip on a B Visa. The Hotel accommodation given by company is really good one and to my expectations, no complaints. Got the refrigerator and locker too along with the usual television and coffee kettle.<br />
Colombo has Uber penetrated well enough. So, that was great to get to my office which is about 5 kms from my stay. If not for the Uber, the Tuk Tuks(3 Wheeler Auto) would sure exploit you. Tuk Tuks in Srilanka have penetrated every nook and corner literally and am not exaggerating.<br />
Since I had been given prior recommendations about Uber, have been saved a lot.<br />
The food is more or less similar to India, in taste and cost. If you convert their cost in LKR to INR, you would not find any difference. In general, I noticed only the petrol(About INR Rs 17 at the time of writing this blog) and Uber to be cheaper. And Uber probably cheaper because of the petrol price.<br />
The food court in the IT park isn't so great but you sure can manage it for the 2 weeks.<br />
Got a chance to dinner at Shanmugha's and Sri Vani Vilas, thanks to my manager.<br />
I found lots of people in the office to speak tamil that I could easily understand, Srilankan tamil is not significantly different. And, all colleagues in general are of very soft nature.<br />
Now, when the weekend was approaching, I planned for a one day outing and asked for suggestions with people. Luckily I had an Uber contact who once dropped me at office and he had decent English, He offered me a trip to Kandy and Pinnawala for 8500 LKR to and fro.<br />
<br />
I confirmed that the deal is really good with colleagues and said Ok to the uber driver. Kandy has got the Tooth Relic temple and Pinnawala has the famous Elephant Orphanage.<br />
<br />
<b>Pinnawala</b><br />
To make sure we don't miss the elephant bath at 10 AM, we started from Hotel at 7 AM itself on the Saturday morning. On the way, to my request driver stopped for a traditional Srilankan breakfast. The special Heenati rice and similar ones with country chicken and other dishes were available for breakfast. I saw Rambhutan being sold on the road side and did taste them as well. We reached on time for the elephant bath. For Indian adult, ticket price is Rs 800 LKR after I showed my passport. It was displayed as LKR 3000 per adult foreigner otherwise Went to a souvenir shop on the way to the river and waited for the elephants to cross. It was a great sight to watch the elephant herd cross you so closely to the river for the bath.<br />
After spending a few minutes, came out to see a small factory making paper out of the elephant poo (dung). They explained the process and took me to the store where all the different elephant poo paper products were sold. It was all too costly, so I just bought them as sample to show friends and family at home. Not sure why they have it at so high cost discouraging people from buying for normal use..<br />
Then we went to fruit feeding location of the elephants, it costed Rs 250 LKR to feed some fruit slices to 2 of the elephant kids. I loved feeding them.<br />
<br />
After having done with the elephants, which was all done in almost 1 hour only, we started to Kandy and on the way had the delicious red tender coconut that costs about 50 LKR.<br />
<br />
<b>Spices</b>:<br />
Had told the driver about buying some spices back home. So he took me to a Spice and Herbal Garden, Susantha. Someone who claimed himself a doctor greeted me and gave a walk around the garden with medicinal plants and spices describing their benefits. Especially the Cinnamon which is very famous in Srilanka. All the medicines and Cinnamon were sold at very high cost in that spice garden. Bought the 50g cinnamon at LKR 800 while at the Colombo market the same costs about LKR 250 only. Also bought herbal oil for Arthritis for LKR 4400. I later realised that I have done the biggest mistake of not googling before making the purchase and mostly went by the confidence given by the driver. The driver was literally playing my guide and he had already offered the cheaper deal to drive me to Kandy. Not sure if he did for a commission, I should have done my simple search. Other than this unnecessary spend, I have no regrets about this whole trip.The tricks and tactics were same like any other scam places, attack you emotionally and distract you with wrong facts mixed with some truth one after another, tall claims like complete cure for diabetes and arthritis. He even claimed of having Viagra equivalent based on aswagantha. TripAdvisor reviews have so many negative reviews about them<br />
<br />
<b>Tooth Relic </b>temple<br />
After the Spice encounter, we directly went to temple slowed by the traffic, after parking our car at the government multilevel parking area for very low price. Most of the road is single lane from Colombo to Kandy and also its hilly drive that it is extremely difficult to overtake a slow vehicle in front of you. Anyways there is also 70 kms speed limit as well. The number plates of all vehicles have white background in the front and the ones at the rear of the vehicle have yellow background for better night visibility. And when a vehicle overtakes, it signals by switching On the 'Right turn' indicator. Bought the LKR 1000 ticket for entry and bought lotus flowers to offer at the shrine. It is a peaceful place and most people come in white outfit.There used to be a tusker named Raja who had served at the temple and after his demise, his skin has been used and a replica has been made out of it and kept for public display. Also visited the museum where lots of scriptures related to the tooth relic incidents and stories were on display. Also, the ancient dresses used by the rulers were there for display. There are so many stories about the Tooth relic that are directly linked to India and Hindu rulers I was surprised to know all of that there.<br />
<br />
In this whole trip, i did not see a single movie poster throughout the route anywhere and when i enquired the driver, he said they done make sinhala movies so frequently, probably once in 3 months is best case. I wanted to visit a fruit shop and vegetable shop but both did not happen. That would sure be part of my next trip if I make one, But on the return we stopped for evening snack and tea. It was run by women more like the women cooperative supported by the govt. Multiple snack shops at a single place, kind of a small open food court with women led counters. Got a herbal black tea with a small jaggery piece as side dish. Also had Pittu with chatni, it wasnt sweet but tasted more like upma and another sweet that resembled paniyaram but not made of rice. I skipped my dinner that day.<br />
<br />
Coming from Chennai, wasn't particular about the beaches there in Colombo. So just took a few pictures of the beach nearby my Hotel and thats it. My colleagues have told me about so many other beautiful places to visit in the south and north, i would have to plan it well in advance if and when i make it again next time to Colombo.<br />
<br />
<b>Chocolates</b><br />
By Sunday I wanted to close my shopping. For chocolates, I googled this time. Found Kandos, shop to be pretty nearby. One tuk-tuk guy agreed to drop me back after shopping in just LKR 300 and again I took the bet. On the pretense of not sure about the shop location , he took me to a factory outlet Tea shop though I told him not interested . I thought no harm in getting a sample and bought plan tea for 200 grams that I had to buy for LKR 750. Then I gave the live direction to the tuk-tuk to reach the Kandos chocolate shop. Despite his reluctance I made him take me there as he was suggesting alternate places. Finally I bought enough chocolates with no discount. On the return, the tuk-tuk guy requested me to spend some time at a Gem shop. As he openly told me the truth that it would be of great help to him if I just spend 20 mins and I need not buy anything at all there. So I satisfied his request and for the first time in my life, had a simple experience at the Gem store as well who were trying to sell me a .37 ct high quality Pushparaham stone for Rs 2000 INR (no typo).<br />
<br />
<b>Exchange</b><br />
When I landed at the Colombo airport from Chennai, I exchanged a small dollar amount only as I wasnt sure of using all the dollars given to me by the company in 2 weeks. I did it at the commercial bank kiosk at the airport, it was done in less than 2 mins. They gave me after checking my passport. And before the Kandy trip, I wanted some more LKR, so I went to the Sampath Bank that is nearby my Hotel and asked for exchange. They were first confused whether i was asking for INR looking at my passport, later agreed to do it. And it took me another 30 - 40 mins after all their paper work to get the small dollar converted to LKR, the exchange rate was same in both the banks. People in the Sampath bank were all almost young and were dressed really well, but the way they worked reminded me of Indian govt banks. I spent so much in the trip that I wanted some more LKR, this time I went to a nearby private exchange, he did it in less than a minute with an exchange rate of LKR 3 more than the banks. He did not even ask my passport, may be because it was a small amount.<br />
<br />
In General, Colombo is a great place to visit. Great weather, lots of options to travel around the state and all at short distances. Air ticket cost is very less from India, they got On Arrival Visa for Indians. And it is just less than 1.5 hrs by flight. The city is comparatively cleaner than our Chennai. People mostly follow traffic rules and with significantly more traffic police at effective work. It seems the cars have 300% tax at Srilanka but I still could see lots of cars, even the premium ones. Because of the recent negative incidents, tourism had come to a stand still almost and everyone related is highly impacted with little or no business. You should visit and be informed of all the silly scams that could cost you dear, make sure to google enough before making any move.</div>

<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
Factors to consider while buying an Air Conditioner:<br />
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br />Disclaimer: Note that have only discussed about factors that I have understood or experienced. Please validate them yourself before making your call.</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
1. Size:</div>
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
First is to fix the size of the AC that we need, whether it should be 1 Ton or 1.5 Ton?</div>
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
Any room of size less than or equal to 120 sqft (eg: 10x12 or 10x11), 1 Ton is sufficient. Lesser the size, lesser the electricity cost.<br />
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
2. Power Consumption:</div>
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
This is the most critical factor in deciding a model. Lesser the consumption , lesser the electricity charges. This rating is mentioned in watts. And the cooling capacity is also mentioned in watts which is not the same. Ratio between the cooling capacity and power consumption gives the EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio)<br />
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br />
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
For Eg, lets say one specific 1 Ton model consumes 1200 Watts of power for max load, lets call it A and another model B of same 1 Ton size, consumes 1000 watts at max load. The difference is 200 watts. Please note that 1000 watts used for an hour is 1 UNIT. And lets say, the max load usage per day (it sure varies for everyone) is for 5 hrs then it means model A consumes 6 UNITs of electricity per day while B consumes 5 units of electricity per day. That is 30 units of difference per month and 360 units per year. So, please choose B if the purchase cost difference is justified.<br />
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br />
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
Many models these days advertise and try to attract customers based on the number of units consumed/saved per year, which I believe is misleading as every customer's usage is always different and this number is not applicable but only the actual power consumption units in watts matters.<br />
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
In general, a 1 Ton model with good energy star rating should have power input rating of around 1000 watts or less for max load. And it is 1500 watts or less for 1.5 Ton. Those models which have lesser consumption of power with high cooling capacity (EER > 3.6) will obviously be costlier. Most cheap models will have high electricity consumption. So, please strike a balance of purchase cost vs electricity consumption cost.<br />
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
3. Inverter / Non-Inverter :</div>
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
The claim is that the inverter models have around 15% energy savings comparatively. Though i cannot validate this, logically speaking, inverter models do not operate at the peak load all the time the compressor is switched ON, hence it is possible that we do receive some energy savings there.<br />
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
4. Refrigerant:</div>
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
If you are environmentally conscious person, please choose the models with latest Refrigerants that have the least impact on the ozone layer or the global warming </div>
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
check this site for info regarding the same:<br />
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
https://www.bijlibachao.com/air-conditioners/comparison-of-various-refrigerants-r-410a-r-22-r-290-r-134a-used-for-air-conditioners-and-refrigerators.html</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
5. Bonus features:</div>
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
Many models provide anti bacterial, anti dust, Mosquito repellent etc. , features to attract customers. Am personally sure this mosquito repellent doesnt work with the model am using, and am not really sure about the efficiency of the other features.<br />
</div>
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
6. Customer Service:</div>
</div>
<div align="left">
<div dir="ltr">
These days, for home appliances, the customer service is more or less the same with all brands. Unlike Amazon, cant single out a specific brand for great customer service.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
7. Don't forget the copper coil.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
</div>
</div>

<p dir="ltr">Rain fight is the best of the movie. BG score is too good especially for Rajini and Nana Patekar. 1st half had me entertained with all dimensions of Rajini, tho some claim that it has lengthy family scenes, 1 song too many  and 1 fight less, but I find the composition most appropriate, couldn't have been better.</p>
<p dir="ltr">2nd half has lots of tragedy coming and the mass scenes doesn't compensate enough to consume the tragedies. Ranjith makes you yearn for mass scene but that is also why Rain fight is appreciated by most. Fire fight in 2nd half doesn't match the rain fight enough. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Ranjith probably wants to show a more practical and realistic hero. Dialogues are contemporary and fits the social situation, no boring sermons.  </p>
<p dir="ltr">One of the best movies of Rajinikanth, the response it has got now despite all the fake negativity created around him is the proof. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Even the opposers who fell for fake stories wants to watch it anyhow other than theatre, even thru theatre print downloads. They call it their principle to watch it not in theatre, but boycotting him in all formats would be their ideal principle, that would be the right thing to justify and respect what they believe in. Havent watched Kathi movie in any format till now since the story ownership issue came out on that movie. Sadly,  immaturity and ignorance is easily exploited by vested interests, as is said in the LMES video, someone else in the hiding decides what n when you should watch, what n when you should oppose,  what n when you should appreciate and I believe WhatsApp is the greatest tool used by these hiding vultures. I wanna remind those people driven by fake stories, it's not just ego you got, there is something called brain,  make use of it.</p>

Have been to pondy in the past a couple of times I guess, but my latest trip by the end of Mar 2018, that is last week, had shown me the pondy that I had not known till then, the pondy that I should have known. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
Travelled with colleagues on my car. We started at around 8 am after i reached home at 7.10 AM from office, yes full nightout that scared our gang if I would make it to the trip. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
We had simple breakfast on the highway, reached our mediocre hotel, visited a private beach, had our great lunch at the delicious Kamatchi restaurant, full non-veg. Dinner and the next day break fast was at a self service restaurant near the hotel and that was too good too. 2nd day lunch as well was at Kamatchi, it had that chicken and fish omelettes which I haven't heard of before and were delicious too.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
I confess, I did have breezer which technically is a fruit juice according to the boozers. Booze I understand is 50% cheaper as you would all know. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
Pondy does have beaches and we visited the paradise beach through a ferry ride as well. I think this paradise beach is well suited for family. Ferry ride costed Rs. 300 per head. There is also the paid fresh water shower with music in the open which our gang enjoyed as well with dance. Having a real stage singer in the gang was a plus for us throughout the trip, especially the evenings. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
Drive around the city with full pitch music is an unbeatable pleasure. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
We of course did not visit the temples and ashrams. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
The best thing for me was the night we spent at the main beach near the Gandhi statue. The walk with gulfi enjoying the cool sea breeze and seeing around all the beauties....</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Conclusion is that, I should have travelled to pondy frequently before 2012, yeah when I was a real bachelor </div>

<p dir="ltr">A friend told me, we are in transition in India, probably in the near future, there wouldn't be any opposition at all for both sex to work. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Yeah I agree completely</p>
<p dir="ltr">That near future is when</p>
<p dir="ltr">1. You would be able to buy good parenting for money, today, you can't even imagine good trust worthy care for any amount of money (note: parenting and child care are not same)</p>
<p dir="ltr">2. You would sure have that mental maturity to keep aside the social compulsion to bear a child. You would make a well analysed and informed decision. </p>
<p dir="ltr">3. You would understand that bearing a child is a responsibility that you are forcing it on yourself and not your other half(yes applies to both). You would really know how you are gonna raise your child if you will have one.</p>
<p dir="ltr">4. Any female is matured enough to take care of the financial needs while accepting her other half's responsibility of taking care of the child. Yes, male is matured enough to stay home to raise the child if needed. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Until then, let us keep away half cooked arguments. Either don't have a child or have it along with all the responsibilities. No escape. And, don't exploit elders in the family for that unless they are willing. Every human, be it your own child or the elders, each have their own passion and dreams and would love to live in their own world, just like you and me.</p>

This article has a better theme to debate.<br />
<br />
http://www.thenewsminute.com/article/sc-says-its-cruel-separate-husbands-and-parents-are-parents-best-cared-sons-51089<br />
<br />
<br />
Note: Am not talking about everyone, certain things apply to certain ppl. This post does not apply to all men and women<br />
<br />
Those who ask "what about the girl's parents?"<br />
Who and what stops the girl to give care to her parents? If she could get to a point of divorce just to stay away from his parents, it shouldn't be difficult. Am serious about it, women should indeed think about it, how many are ready? These days women do earn and when the parents don't have a son, this becomes a must.<br />
<br />
"Why did he marry if he wants to live with his parents?"<br />
This is so often asked, dint the girl knew this before marriage that she will have to live with in-laws? Many cases are there where marriage talks do stop when girl's family place their expectation to keep no in-laws at home.<br />
When elderly care is so pathetic already, while most parents have spent everything on their kids including their PFs, without any social security infrastructure for elders by govt, this is the best way to multiply our social chaos.<br />
<br />
"Why wouldn't you just hire a maid to care the parents?"<br />
I have employed 3 maids at my home of 870sqft(20% is common area tho) 2 bhk, 1 for cleaning, 2 for cooking, 3 for baby care and you think it's so easy? I had to place a security camera after a few months. Anyways let's say I somehow manage everything with all maids, lets say 10 maids, what is the purpose of a girl to be force locked with a male? The only thing left is s.. am sure you wouldn't like me equating that to marriage or would you?<br />
<br />
From the article "did the guy first spend time with his parents in the first place?"<br />
If he isn't , why would he ask for divorce with wife ? to get separated from parents?<br />
So , a male should earn, should earn more than the wife if not double , spend everything from his pocket for the family , spend his time for all the house hold chores like shopping, kids time, parents time , take the wife out every weekend, every weekend it should be a new place, it should neither be boring nor be tiring, all this and yes make sure the wife's office commute is the most comfortable, last but not the least don't dare question about the money earned by the wife.<br />
<br />
You will get into a family but will not have a good relationship with members (that's not even accepted at workplace) and you question back the guy's relationship with his parents with whom he had already spent close to 30 years or more. And any task at home will make you a maid? They say having a maid is Western? Really ? Getting to a maid is the last thing anyone does at west, its so damn costly!<br />
<br />
Yes, there are instances of elders being abused, but there are also instances where elders so piss off their children.<br />
<br />
Problem I see is that, everyone at home with some money on hand monthly, be it elders or son/ daughter or in-laws, wants to create an atmosphere at home that they individually want rather than what's actually the collective need of the family. When you have chosen to live together, what's the point in trying to create an isolated world of your own forcing others to get in?<br />
<br />
These days, men who does tasks at home are proud of doing it, but women , working class women, may be not all, think they are forced into a maid. I see where this is coming from, yes women were abused in the past forcing them at home, but why would you take revenge on today's good men for that? Isn't this very similar to the cast reservation debate?<br />
<br />
Note again: Am not talking about everyone, certain things apply to certain ppl. This post does not apply to all men and women</div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4667px; margin-bottom: 6px;">
Offline Google Maps:</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4667px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Have you used it already? I did not until last week. I had heard about it somewhere, but when I was disconnected from internet for multiple days, i realized how difficult it was. As soon as I got internet i found how to use it offline on mobile.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4667px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Just in case you need it as well:<span class="text_exposed_show" style="display: inline;"><br />1. Open maps app and click on the side bar(3 horizontal lines at the left top)<br />2. Select 'Offline Areas' option,<br />3. Select the '+' at the bottom right<br />4. choose an area. you can choose a very big area and download,</span></div>
<div class="text_exposed_show" style="background-color: white; color: #141823; display: inline; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4667px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px;">
Note:<br />
1. But it has a limitation, For eg. it cant get the whole of TN in one offline area, so i did choose multiple offline areas that collectively covered the entire TN.<br />
2. The download size would be easily more than 100/200 mb, it will infact show the estimated data size when you select the area. So do this when you are on good internet speed and be aware of how much it will cost you, home wifi might be a good option<br />
3. Please remember that GPS will work without internet, so now anywhere you roam around TN with maps navigation offline, ofcourse no live traffic data.<br />
4. Offline areas have an expiry timeline of 30 days. You have to update them.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4667px;">
Until now I used to frequent switching on and off internet on my phone whenever i traveled by car to make sure i dont lose much battery and it costed me unnecessary data cost as well. What a shame!!! Better late than never.</div>
<div style="color: #141823; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21.4667px;">

<p dir="ltr">I started working for an Indian IT service company 11 years back. Had no idea about importance of on-site travel until one HR tried to downplay it and say life is not all about money...bla bla . I was not getting it, why would anyone want to leave their place to work ? so my friend then explained the $ numbers.</p>
<p dir="ltr">After 4 yrs, finally I got the opportunity. What a time, I had 3 personal loans on me by then and supporting my family that is not the usual nuclear type, have 4 siblings. Had my crush engaged with someone else recently then. </p>
<p dir="ltr">I loved America, all the infrastructure, order, public services, most importantly the vacation options to travel around the many states. I made it to most of them except Florida in my 2 years. Especially when you start driving yourself, America is a triple awesome place. I saved just enough unlike many other colleagues who saved every penny possible. Like I never cooked on work days, spent at food court, took 2 coffees at office daily, weekends at an Indian restaurant or cooking with friends for fun. But I had no booze or smoking habit. </p>
<p dir="ltr">Every 9 months l took 3 weeks (total 2) vacation to India, am very sure I was probably one of the 100s to travel home like that who worked for an Indian IT at onsite. 9 months gap so that I get good 3 weeks, I didn't even bother when some colleagues warned me about possible end of my onsite trip if I took vacation. Most of the stay, I shared my apartment with only one other person so that I got enough privacy.</p>
<p dir="ltr">All was well, even work wise though I had my rough times like spending 15 hrs, I got comfortable later. And then the emptiness slowly started swallowing me. Your friends keep changing, though I never worried, I could not understand what am doing for my life at US and why am doing it. Because once the original debts were done I had no idea why I was there. Most others planned about saving for buying a house. Fortunately or unfortunately I never thought about that till then. And there were problems at home as well, so I had to plan my home trip. But the dryness was so high, I decided I will not come back again. I didn't tell you, had felt so bad to stand in line at the US embassy for my VISA, had not realized it until I went and stood there in line and all the stories you hear about the VISA allocations and approvals go around your brain bothering you. Never once I felt it as home. Its only a place for vacation. <br>
I planned to come home and take a better paying job so that I could earn enough to pay the seed money for the home loan. </p>
<p dir="ltr">After I returned, with no money at hand except a cheap plot for less than 3 lakhs at home town as the only saving, it took more than 3 yrs for me to buy a home on loan, while my other friends had got second by then. I have no regrets anyways, life is all about living not about accumulating wealth. A friend after spending years at US says, he couldn't imagine living in India, the garbage, public apathy, infrastructure deficiencies ...I can understand him, I don't have a problem with his choice. To me, life is not about living the most comfortable way, its about how you survive/live every moment . There is no way I could take my parents and live in America, I have to face the challenges living with them in India. That's what is worth living to me. Life is not just about me. While I had watched how my parents burnt themselves every minute to grow the 5 of us, it is naturally the choice for me.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Every moment I missed sitting at US was indeed a loss , but for a reason. And that reason doesn't exist for now. Its not just the family, its the soil, the sun light, the air everything I missed, I realized my yearning for the land whenever I landed at chennai from US be it vacation or for good. </p>
<p dir="ltr">I do miss America, for a vacation</p>

Whole Intolerance debate is twisted to have the wrong premise. It is not the nation that is protested against, but the elected government, which has only 5 years mandate. Read it again, protest is against the government, irrespective of whether they made it explicit or not, I mean the protesters.<br />
<br />
Why are they protesting government? Because all those so called sporadic events are triggered by miscreants who identify themselves with the ruling party. And the supreme ruler, the elected representative, gives very reluctant condemnation (?) without any significant impact . the ruler even felicitates the Twitter abusers who abuse any critic of the ruler, check with his party mate Arun shourie on this.<br />
<br />
Why is it twisted? It is twisted so that you get mass appeal, defame and demoralize protesters, and any one who wants to support could be defamed and character assassinated as well. This is simple and same logic they follow for any criticism. Any criticism of ruling party or candidate is twisted as against nation, and ask them to go Pakistan.<br />
<br />
Again, it is not the number of incidents, it is the people behind those incidents and who stand along with them.<br />
<br />
Why only this govt? Did miscreants of past incidents before this govt had so much of strong and open allegiance with the ruling party? May be individuals who did business malpractice did have but not any national level organization capable of triggering incidents across the country.<br />
<br />
So the last govt was great? Hey you just throwed it out giving it a historic defeat, that too after so much of public protests against. Unfortunately for that govt they couldn't twist the corruption context as against the nation, though they still tried an extent.<br />
<br />
Does the protesters have any right to protest? Govt runs by the tax every citizen pays and are bound to criticism and condemnation. Government is the servant of the public, including the prime ruler, unfortunately!<br />
<br />
Edit based on FB discussion:<br />
<br />
Did the same people protest against intolerance in 1975?<br />
1975. - emergency period. Are you saying ppl did not oppose Indira? They dint throw her out? Again at any point of time, there is a critical issue that is amidst multiple issues to which focus naturally gets to. When was the last time, a govt is seen openly supporting activities of fringe elements? When your own govt running on your money , is seen standing along with fringe elements, wouldn't ppl be scared irrespective of any violence happened or not?<br />
<br />
Why aren't people asking respective CMs?<br />
They neither explicitly mentioned PM either. In fact couple I know clearly said both state and central govts should restore confidence<br />
<br />
Why all this intolerance protests are only in 2015?<br />
Ppl do protest and oppose any or every govt on any critical issue. It was about corruption last govt, now it is intolerance. Why don't you question your reasoning which thinks only this protest as manufactured. Just because every opposition party tried exploiting the protesters, doesn't mean the protest is invalid<br />
<br />
How can you conclude which is manufactured and which is not? based on facts or based on perception or biases?<br />
By history, only the winners write what is fact and what is not. And people are aware so they pick resonance, I mean that wavelength which they agree with .</div>
